A vintage négligée necklace, crafted from 14-karat yellow gold (0.585 fine) and 0.900 platinum.

Origin: Western Europe, early 20th century.

It features a central crimson oval amethyst weighing 2.20 carats, surrounded by 14 natural pearls, from which hang two teardrop-cut amethysts weighing a total of 1.20 carats.

A négligée is a type of necklace popular in the early 20th century with two parallel pendants suspended asymmetrically at different lengths. This necklace came into fashion around 1900.

The necklace is on a delicate chain with a clasp that has likely been replaced.
